Access: Users assigned the Assignment - Change 5 - After Posted permission. The following roles are assigned this permission by default: Charge, Scheduler, and
higher.
On occasion, a particular skill may be understaffed due to illness or a change in patient census. When this occurs, a staffer will need to find qualified staff from their home department or other departments to fill staffing gaps on the daily roster.
To add an assignment to the daily roster:
In the main navigation menu, click Daily Roster.
On the Daily Roster Filter screen, enter a date range, parts of day, select departments to view and click Save.
The selected rosters display the current staffing levels for each skill along with a list of scheduled staff.
In the above example, the department is understaffed by one RN and 1.75 PCT. Click Add Assignment to identify available staff.
On the Add Assignment screen:
Select Facility and a Department.
The Staff drop-down lists all available staff by name and skill.
Select a staff member to fill the staffing gap.
Unscheduled Primary and Secondary department staff are listed in the Staff drop-down list. Secondary department staff are designated by the [S] symbol following their
skill code.
Select the Facility, Department, Shift code, and Date for the assignment.
Select the Charge checkbox if the assignment is for a Charge position.
The Float checkbox will be selected if you are floating someone from or to another department. You can edit the Float setting as needed, but you must enter an explanation
in the Notes field to add the assignment.
Click Add Assignment.
The daily roster screen will refresh displaying the newly added assignment and recalculated skill assignment levels.
